Registration and Reading Room Access
All of Rare Books and Special Collections are open to the public. No appointment is necessary, but visiting researchers must register for a Special Collections Research Account in order to use our holdings. In addition, those visiting either Firestone or the Mudd Manuscript Library will be required to obtain an access pass in the Access Office, located in the lobby of Firestone Library. You may also want to review our Access Policies before you visit.

Fall/Spring Semesters Monday to Friday: 9-4:45
Summer 2014 · Monday to Friday: 8:45 - 4:15
Requesting Materials and Access Restrictions
You may want to contact us with your needs in advance to make sure that we can make your trip worthwhile. For example, some materials need to be paged from our off-site storage facility (RECAP). These materials can take up to 48 hours to arrive, so you will want to request these ahead of time. Also, some collections are under embargo and, at the request of the donor, are not available to the public at the moment. For more on requesting material, see: Starting Your Research
