Molly Shenstone Collection on Thomas Mann

The collection consists of assorted material collected by Molly Shenstone that relates to Thomas Mann. Included are notes concerning Mann, text of two radio broadcasts made by Mann (December 1940), a hate letter directed to Mann while at Princeton (1939), a small selection of photographs of Mann and his family, the preface to the 1939 edition of Royal Highness, and printed material featuring Mann. There is also correspondence between Shenstone and others, such as Katharina Pringsheim Mann [Mann's wife] and Caroline Newton, concerning Mann.The following standard abbreviations, or their variations, are used to identify materials in this collection: ALS = autograph letter signed, TLS = typed letter signed, AMsS = autograph manuscript signed, and TMsS = typed manuscript signed.
