WEEMS, MASON LOCKE (1759-1825)

  • The Library has an collection of 200 volumes by and about Parson Weems (best known for his George Washington and the cherry tree story). The books were the gift in 1961 of John S. Williams, Princeton Class of 1931.  A copy of Paul Leicester Ford, Mason Locke Weems, His Works and Ways: I-A Bibliography left unfinished by Paul Leicester Ford (New York, 1929) has been marked up for holdings in the Williams gift.
